These photographs are from the 2023 Downtown Akron Juneteenth Celebration, which took place over 2 days, June 9 and 10. On June 9, Downtown Akron Partnership hosted a Juneteenth Mix & Mingle at the Akron Civic Theatre Knight Stage, featuring food from Essential Dipped Delights, DeJuan's, Ernie's Catering, Perfect Pour, and Urban Gourmet. Ebonay Hill of Hilltastic Coaching was emcee and interviewed the owners of each of the downtown Akron restaurants whose food was showcased. On July 10, DAP hosted Celebration Saturday on Cascade Plaza, a family-friendly celebration with vendors, local organizations, arts and crafts, community mural painting, and entertainment from DJ J Boogie, the Black Beanz dance group, Angie Higgins Dance and Drum group, Xposyur & 1Take, and 9-piece Cleveland band, FunkyardX.
